Coventry Cathedral Admission
Coventry Cathedral is reopening to visitors!
We are doing everything we can to welcome tourists back safely in these uncertain times. As part of our efforts to follow national guidance we are introducing a ticketing system. Coventry Cathedral is planning to reopen fully as a cultural venue on Monday 17 May 2021 and we recommend you book a ‘Exhibition and Entry’ ticket to visit.*
This ticket includes guaranteed access to the New Cathedral, current exhibitions, regular services and other daily activities. Coventry Cathedral provides opportunities for prayer, reflection, creativity and engagement. Please be aware there may be multiple events, services, education visits and more happening during your time at the Cathedral. We hope you enjoy your visit!
The Self-Portrait Prize 2021: Visit Coventry Cathedral between Monday 17 May and Monday 28 June 2021 to see the Ruth Borchard Collection’s Self-Portrait Prize 2021. The Prize is the only art competition of its kind to focus exclusively on self-portraiture.
Concrete Collar by Tom Illesley: Visit between Monday 17 May and Wednesday 30 June 2021 to see Tom Illesley’s photography exhibition Concrete Collar. Illesley explores the beauty and complexity of Coventry’s ring-road in a unique photography exhibition.
Do the Little Things by Jake Lever: Visit between Saturday 22 May to Sunday 27 June to see Jake Lever’s Do the little Things. Levers work is centred on an intricate sculpture of gold boats. During the pandemic Lever found his work could be used as a method of wordless, meaningful conversation. The opening of Do little things will coincide with the Lampedusa Cross’s visit to Coventry Cathedral.
Services take place throughout the day in the New Cathedral. We recommend you book a ticket if you wish to join a service during the normal opening times. Service outside of these times are operating as normal and do not currently require a ticket. For a full schedule of regular and special services please visit the Coventry Cathedral website.
* The Cathedral is open from 10am to 4pm from Monday to Saturday, and from 12.30pm to 3pm on Sundays. There will be a number of walk-up tickets available on the day. We recommend booking a free ticket online in advance to avoid disappointment should numbers exceed our capacity. Sunday services, and any other services outside of the above tourism hours will be open to all as usual.
Please only visit with people from your household or support bubble (maximum group size six). Visitors are required to wear face coverings, apart from those who are exempt. Additional information about restrictions due to Covid-19 government guidelines will be released if required. For more information on the changes we have made, and visiting guidance, visit the Coventry Cathedral website.
The Cathedral Ruins are an outdoor space and do not require a ticket for entry. Please contact Coventry Cathedral for up-to-date information on education and school visits, access to the Blitz Museum, the Tower Climb and any other questions.
Coventry Cathedral reserves the right to cancel tickets at short notice in the case of an emergency or other unforeseen circumstance.
